Uninterested

It seems I have lost interest with this blog. Shocked? I wouldn’t be as I for the past few years I have kind of blog hopped a bit. Actually, to have had my main blog for over a year is quite an accomplishment for me.

So for now, I will take a break from this blog, perhaps someday I will find a use again for it…

A little roast…

On the pc to mac transfer I lost all of my play counts and ratings. So as I slowly go through my huge collection I finding some stuff I forgot I had and also some stuff I wish I never had, OMG what was I thinking?!?!

Anyways, I found this from way back in the day (a couple of years old??) And of course, a really cool YouTube video to accompany it.

You know, in honor of W’s last days in office.

On the store play list, there are currently THREE versions of Happy Xmas (War is Over). I don’t like this song to begin with. My issues with this song are actually kind of epic, so if any of you have a free half hour or so, I’d be more than happy to discuss them with you.

But three, ugh, is corporate trying to push some kind of agenda here?

Uncool.

For your viewing pleasure, however, a version I can jump on board with!

Wednesday Morning Videos

Because YouTub comes up in every conversation I have, I was told about a couple of hilarious videos last night, so here is the first one. I can’t believe I’ve never come across this one before!

As always, a little late to the party, but when I get there it becomes a part-tay!

First the long version…cause you need to know the context…

Scarlet’s description of the video: i fall off the cofee table u might want to fastforward it to 2 mins 28 secs cause the first few minutes is just me singing nonsense

And as always someone was so kind to remix that action…

Actually a lot of people did, but most of the remixes suck.

And Scarlet’s reaction, FYI, the table is fine…I know you were all concerned!

BAH HUMBUG!

I know that it’s not even Thanksgiving yet. Sorry.

However, the Holiday music started playing at the store yesterday confirming long lasting belief that as soon as the holiday spirit becomes injected into one’s shopping experience the customer turns into the mosty nasty version of consumer they can muster.

I am only glad that I have the weekend off, I don’t think I can stand to follow up to that in any shape or form!

One word of advice though if you are shopping. BE NICE!!! I am a lot more likely to find a way to make something work if you are nice to me than if you start yelling at me (especially accusing me of knowing of a way to make it work). I do. But accusatory statements and yelling aren’t the way to make me do it.

Sorry, didn’t mean to go off on retail…

I meant to go off on the holiday season in general.

I hate it. I hate the traditional Christmas music, actually ‘loathe’ might be a better term. I dislike holiday decorations and the general cheerfulness that is allegedly supposed to accompany the holiday season.

Also, I am sure that my feeling about holiday has everything to do with my current career track.

Last year I stumbled upon the perfect holiday solution!

Having been generally in a funk for some very good reasons going into the holiday season I was an open Scrooge. Everyone understood, considering the circumstances. It was very simple. I didn’t care how “holiday” everyone was feeling, just don’t try to get me into the spirit or make me feel all warm and fuzzy with your holiday-ness.

Also, instead of listening to the normal holiday music, I found my own non-traditional holiday music. And there it was that I stumble upon Sufjan Stevens and more importantly his song “The Worst Christmas Ever.” I like his entire collection of holiday music, I was so inspired by it I actually took the advice of buying the CD(!) in a brick and mortar store. The only actual CD I have bought in years! Totally worth it for the packaging and cool extra booklet.

The whole Bah Humbug thing through the countdown to Christmas worked. I had absolutely one of the best Christmases ever!

This year I am going to try a repeat. I am going to be a Scrooge (or is that Scroogette?). Be all Christmas-y if you’d like, just keep it away from me and I, in return, won’t go Scrooge on you. Do this and I’m sure we’ll have another wonderful Christmas!

Oh, and here is a YouTube video of Sufjan Steven’s “The Worst Christmas” which you deserve after reading all of that!

The Big Brother emailed me over the weekend…actually, while I was enjoying the film Rachel Getting Married, loved it! Totally indulged my nerdy film school geek within, take that into account if you’re thinking about seeing it.

Anyhoo, I’m posting his email verbatim…sorry, dude…cause I think he says it best.

And for those of you with sensitive ears, there is a lot of, ummm, “french” being spoken…

I really only want to submit the 2nd one, but context is important…

This is Bill O’Reilley flipping out back when he was on Inside Edition, because he didn’t know what “Play us out” meant (There was gonna be Sting video over the closing credits…

This is the ‘Dance Remix’ of his rant…

Fuckin’ Genius!
